Situated 1364 meters above sea level, Kempty Falls is 13 kms from Mussoorie in Ram Gaon in the Tehri Garhwal District.  This location was developed by John Mekinan, a British Officer and has been an important attraction since 1835.  It was established as a place for hosting tea parties and is one of the oldest tourist attractions in Mussoorie.

The water falls from a height of 4500 ft. They are serene and picturesque in nature and get divided into 5 channels. One can get an amazing view from the Cable Car (ropeway) that offers a 360-degree view of the waterfalls.

The Kempty Fall has a small pool like area below the falls which is a popular bathing spot for tourists. Swimming costumes are available on rent and changing room facilities are also available.  It is also a popular picnic spot.  The spot is also surrounded by many shops selling wooden artifacts, jewellery and handmade crafts.   One can also enjoy boating in the man-made pond nearby.

Kempty Falls can be visited year-round but the best time to visit is during summer.

Kempty Falls is accessible from Dehradun and Mussoorie.  Public transport such as buses and taxis are easily available and convenient parking facility for private vehicles is also there.  

Entry to the falls is free.
