The Cable Car tickets are priced at Rs. 75 for a round trip and it is operational from 10 am to 6 pm.
Gun Hill is the second highest hill in Mussoorie. At a height of 2, 024 meters, this hill can be reached via the cable car. It is believed that Gun Hill lies on an extinct volcano.

Located just 400 ft above the Mall Road, Gun Hill is a popular place for viewing the Himalayan Range and the Doon Valley. Here, one can get a 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges of Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri. It takes a 20-minute walk from the Mall Road to reach the top. The ropeway is the more preferred method of reaching the top as it offers a scenic view of the hill station and valley. The Cable Car starts from Jhula Ghar on the Mall Road. Gun Hill takes its name because prior to Independence, there was a gun placed on the hilltop. The gun used to be fired at midday so that people could adjust their watches accordingly. The blasts from the gun could be heard far and wide. In place of the gun, the hill has a water reservoir which serves the city of Mussoorie.
